The whole situation was far more complicated than the game could ever hope to explain, and it's grossly simplified.Д«ut anyways, I've attempted to go Traditional-only as well, and it's quite difficult. Realistically, both sides persued technological advancement eagerly.

I know I am asking for much, but I guess I could just use some spirit-boost to go on with my honorable-samurai-traditional-unit-campagin in Fall of the Samurai without itching to see the cool looking units from Shogun 2.ДЇocusing on traditional units would be a very a-historical thing to do.

Is there any mod that allows this? Or should I just rethink and deal with it? Is there a mod that adds more to the Traditonal side? (Not Radious mod, as it is too much (I mean ninjas with 2-hand maces/swords?) and feels just overwhelming - and a bit incomplete with the ugly Unit cards and unit information)ДЄnd if anyone has played a non-gunpowder campagin in Fall of the Samurai, please let me know how it went. I know for historical reasons that this is probobly just eye-candy and not as portrayed in the, not so great movie!, The last Samurai but I still want it. I want the honorable Samurai that still wears its traditional cool-looking armor and fights againts 'dishonorable' line infantry of the Imperialist dogs!

When I play custom battles mixing Shogun 2 and Fall of the Samurai, it feels really cool and epic. And you need to keep your modernisation level low so you get the expierance and reinforcment bonus to the trational ones, since you need a whole lot of them to match the modern units. There are hardly any tech-tree improvements for the tradtional units. I am sure this has to do with historical accuracy, but I can't help to feel that the game isn't what I wanted.ДЇirst off, the traditional units are much less costeffective, which I can live with, but when the unitroster is lacking so much its not that fun to play a traditional army, you can only do so much.ДЄnd the feel that the game doesnt allow for playing with traditional units very well is kinda sad.

I thought Fall of the Samurai would be great playing with the traditional units, like the mediocre movie The last Samurai, but it seems lacking. Now I am torn on which one I want to play.
